I know I have not posted in more than a week, but that is only because I went on a trip to NYC for my birthday! My boyfriend and I felt like it was very appropriate to celebrate in the city over Vegas or any other club/party environment because I am honestly not much of a party animal nor much of a drinker (except for an occasional glass of wine.) Yep, I am probably one of the few 21-year-olds who didn't get trashed on their birthday, but my crazy high-school days are way behind me and there is no need for me to ever relive them. Plus, I like to make memories and actually be able to remember them.
We got pretty lucky with the weather since it was mostly sunny and not a bit of humidity. I knew we had a lot of exploring in store so sneakers were a given! I liked how the slip-ons gave this olive green jumpsuit an unexpected sporty touch. I had a feeling way too many people were going to style this particular suit with heels and make it dressy. Goes to show you how versatile jumpsuits can be. I took a casual route and it suited my touristy needs perfectly without sacrificing style.
Also, I am so glad my Goyard tote came just in time for my trip! It was the perfect travel size bag to carry all of my cameras, bottled water, makeup bag, wallets, tickets, snacks, etc. I chose black for its nuetral purposes and it went with everything I packed perfectly. Like I've always said, really consider investing in a sturdy classic tote. It makes all of the difference!
We made a trip to Liberty Island to see the famous lady in green. She was a beauty standing strong. Iconic really. I was exhausted from all of the pushing and shoving on the boat rides to and from the island but she was worth it.
Also, I had a great view of Manhattan from the island. I stood at the pier for a while gazing out at the city. It was breath taking. I just kept thinking to myself how big and beautiful the city looked even from afar.
Afterwards, we made a quick pass through Wall Street then walked all the way to Nolita for an early dinner and some light shopping. Great first day in NYC!
More pics to come! Stay tuned!
