Chartreuse in the City

Hello! Hope you are having a fabulous weekend thus far! I am approaching my last few days of Summer and with school starting this upcoming week and no longer having ample amounts of leisure time, I'm just a little bittersweet about it. I'm ready to get back into the grind and closer to achieving my degree but at the same time who really wants to exit vacation mode? All in all, I'm keeping positive and looking forward to Fall clothing, Fashion Week, Pumpkin Spice Lattes and anything spice scented, bonfires, leaves turning colors, and TURNING 21!! Woohoooo!

Focusing on this look...

I tend to avoid color because I don't think it flatters my fair complexion/dark hair like black and nuetrals do. I also think that it's just so easy to throw on black and it'll undoubtly exude chic no matter what. But on very rare occasions like this beautiful chartreuse green blouse, I crave a little bit of a color shock. I look for color in classic silhoutes like a chiffon button down, a light knitted scarf, a clutch, or even a bright lip. Maybe one day I'll be more of a risk taker and dive into a head to toe color ensemble, but for now that is just too scary to even think about! lol

You have no idea how long I've been on the hunt for a pair of classic leopard print pony-hair pumps! Really, it wasn't easy at all! It took lots of patience and determination but we eventually met and that's all that counts.

Leopard is hands down one of my favorite prints and I strongly believe it is a neutral that can compliment any look while adding subtle edge. Leopard print can also look extremely tacky so take caution on purchasing items that are satin, have more of a brown undertone rather than neutral, or lace infused because none of that looks luxurious no matter what the price tag says.

Oh how I love me some boyfriend jeans! They are so comfortable and can be worn anyway you like. I mostly keep them casual with a t-shirt and flats or sneakers, but they are so much cooler when you add a pair of killer pumps or even a fitted blazer! I go up a size on them because I like them to have a looser cooler vibe but if they look great in your true size than stick with that too. Not all of my pairs are baggy. I prefer a fitted type for dressier occasions.

BTW... If you are looking for a breath taking view of Atlanta, I would definitely consider Jackson Street Bridge top three of the most killer views in the city! During the day you get a wide open view of the skyscrapers and the architecture surrounding the city. For a more romantic vibe, I would go during the night when all of the buildings are lighted and the city is literally shining back at you. You are welcome!
